António José Marques de Moura, plastic surgeon, was born in Porto, Portugal on 27 February 1956.

He began studying medicine in 1973, at the University of Porto faculty of medicine, graduating in 1979 with a final score of 16 points (on a scale of 1 to 20).

He was a researcher and professor of immunology on the medical degree course at ICBAS - Hospital de Santo António from 1979 to 1982.

He did his compulsory military service from 1982 to 1983.

On 1 October 1983, he began his specialist training in Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Santa Maria teaching hospital in Lisbon.

He has taught on Microsurgery courses and done internships in Spain, at Centro Hospitalar de Ramon e Cajal, in Madrid, and Clínica Universitária de Navarra, in Pamplona.

During his specialist training and under the scope of a cooperation agreement between Hospital de Santa Maria (Lisbon) and Hospital Distrital do Funchal (Madeira), He made many weekly trips to provide specialist medical assistance in that region of Portugal.

He was on the clinical staff of Clínica Todos os Santos in Lisbon.

On 31 January 1990, He received the title of plastic surgeon, with a final score of 17 points (on a scale of 1 to 20).

On 5 February 1990, he began his professional career, working exclusively in the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Service / Burns Unit at Hospital da Prelada - Dr. Domingos Braga da Cruz in Porto City.​

His scientific activity includes dozens of participations in congresses, meetings, symposiums or courses in the Plastic or Aesthetic Surgery area, as well as taking part in round tables, lectures and oral presentations.

In his capacity as consultant, he was responsible for providing specialist training to several practising plastic surgeons.

He has published papers in specialist journals and has organised congresses and courses.He was a member of the Portuguese Medical Association’s Surgical Specialty Association and responsible for the Aesthetics Chapter of the Portuguese Plastic Surgery Association. He is currently a member of national and international associations in the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery área.
